Belfast Supported Living and Community Services provides a range of accommodation and community-based supports for adults with mental ill health and learning disabilities across West Belfast.
The service includes:
- Apartments: A suite of 16 individual apartments on a single site, providing 24-hour support for adults with mental ill health. Each person has their own space and is supported to live as independently as possible within a structured and supportive environment.
- Shared accommodation: A supported living property for 5 adults with a learning disability. Individuals living here are supported to access day services in the wider community that offer meaningful, varied activities focused on skill development and social connection, based on individual interests and goals.
- Self-contained flats: A cluster of private flats with staff support available between 9am–9pm. Each flat includes a private kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom, with access to communal lounge space. Support is tailored to individual needs to help people manage daily living and maintain independence.
- DISH (Dispersed Intensively Supported Housing): Provides flexible, intensive support to individuals living in ordinary houses within the local community. Support is based on each person’s needs and helps people to build routines, manage their mental health, and stay connected.
- Floating Support: Offers short-term, housing-related support to up to 25 adults living independently across Belfast. The service helps individuals sustain their tenancies, build daily living skills, and manage their wellbeing.
- Carers Advocacy Service: Supports up to 100 families who care for someone with a learning disability or mental ill health, offering advice, information, and advocacy to navigate services and access the right support.
- Befriending Service: A volunteer-led service providing social support to two individuals, helping reduce isolation through regular contact and shared activities.
All services are delivered in partnership with Supporting People and the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust, and are located close to local shops, public transport, parks, and other amenities. Support is person-centred and promotes choice, independence, and inclusion.
Referrals are typically made by care managers or health and social care professionals.
