For more than a decade, Jamie has called Ingeldene home. Nestled in the peaceful surroundings of Ramsey on the Isle of Man, Ingeldene is more than just a place to live – it’s where Jamie feels safe, supported, and free to enjoy life at his own pace.
Building Connections
Relationships are at the heart of Jamie’s life. He speaks warmly about the people around him:
“The people I live with are very nice and I like the staff”.
The team at Ingledene are a constant source of support – whether it’s heading out for a walk, enjoying a picnic in the sunshine, or simply spending time together in the home, he’s surrounded by people who care.
Family is especially important to Jamie. He regularly visits his brother during the week and has recently begun meeting up with his sister on the weekends. These moments of connection are deeply valued, and Jamie looks forward to them each week.
Living Life to the Full with Praxis Care Support
Jamie’s days are filled with activities that make him happy and help him stay connected to his community. He enjoys long walks when the weather is good, scenic drives followed by picnics, and regular trips into Douglas for a bit of shopping or lunch out.
The Praxis Care team help make these experiences possible, supporting Jamie to do the things he loves while maintaining his independence.
One of Jamie’s favourite times of year is summer barbecue season. He laughs as he shares his signature choice:
“Barbecued toast with lots of peanut butter!”
It’s a quirky favourite that he admits the staff might not share his enthusiasm for!
At home, Jamie enjoys quieter moments too. Listening to music helps him unwind, and watching Netflix is a favourite pastime.
“I’m binging Benidorm,” he says with a grin, “and I’m going onto Mrs Brown’s Boys next.”
Looking Ahead
Looking to the future, Jamie is excited about an upcoming holiday to Scotland, where he’ll be visiting his brother and family. It’s a trip he’s been looking forward to, reflecting how important family is to him.
Life at Ingeldene gives Jamie the right balance of independence, support, and connection. Surrounded by people who understand and encourage him, he continues to enjoy the things that matter most – family, friendship, and everyday moments that make life meaningful.
