Ciara Duffy is our Head of Operations in the Foyle area of Northern Ireland. She has been named as a finalist in the Best of Derry 2023 awards for the ‘Ann Herron Community Champion’ award!
The annual awards ceremony takes place on 22nd June this year. It is held to recognise unsung community heroes and share their inspirational and uplifting stories.
Debbie Thompson recognises Ciara’s commitment
Debbie Thompson, Manager of our Foyle Young People service, nominated Ciara for this award. Not only does the nomination recognise the dedication Ciara shows to all of the staff, but also to the people we support in the Foyle area.
Debbie said, “Ciara is selfless in her work and personal life. She goes out of her way to improve the lives of everyone around her by providing opportunities for them to learn and grow, or by helping them achieve their ambitions and dreams. She motivates and inspires others by being a good role model. Everyone needs a Ciara Duffy in their life!”
Care packages and independence
Ciara sees the good in everyone, and helps them to believe in themselves. She transforms the lives of so many of the individuals we support as well as those of their families. Ciara is instrumental in setting up care packages for people, giving them the ability to live a more independent life within their own communities.
