Located in Leicestershire, Kaleidoscope provides daycare for adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Kaleidoscope was established by parents in partnership with Praxis Care.
PMLD Parents Group
The group is formed of parents whose children have PMLD. Once their children left full time education, they found there were no suitable day care facilities available. So, working in partnership with Praxis, they developed a unique and bespoke service for adults aged 18+. The service provides individualised programmes meeting complex learning, health and social care needs.
The Service
The Kaleidoscope building has appropriate space, access, facilities and equipment; it is fully wheelchair accessible, has a multi-sensory room, relaxation area and a dedicated therapy room.
The service is staffed by experienced, compassionate and caring people. There is a range of individual and group therapy sessions, including coordination with other agencies and providers. Meaningful, well-structured and stimulating individual and group activities are scheduled throughout the day.
