Praxis Care Celebrates 25 years Delivering Mental Health support in Coleraine

Praxis Care recently marked 25 years of providing support for people recovering from mental health problems in the Coleraine area.

Praxis Care is a major provider of services for adults and children with a learning disability, autism, mental ill health, acquired brain injury as well as older people with memory difficulties. The Coleraine service provides accommodation and support services, to enable people to live as independently as possible in the local community and achieve their full potential.

The service consists of 10 cluster flats in the Killowen area owned by Choice, one of the largest independent housing associations in Northern Ireland. As well as 3 dispersed flats provided by Radius Housing.

To mark the momentous date, Praxis Care held a coffee morning in the Coleraine scheme. The event was attended by the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, the people we support, staff, families and friends.

Geoff Bunting, Assistant Manager of Praxis Care Coleraine Service says:

‘Praxis Care provides a vital support service to the service users in the Coleraine Flat Cluster scheme.  We continue to work in partnership with Choice Housing, the Northern Health and Social Care Trust and a variety of local agencies to meet the needs of people with mental health problems living independently in the community. 

 I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff team for their hard work and commitment to the service over the years.  We look forward to continuing our work in the future.’
