Castle Lane Court Day Service Attendees Achieve ICT Qualifications

We are proud to announce that three attendees at Castle Lane Court Day Service have achieved ICT Level 2 qualification. The Lurgan-based service supports adults with learning disabilities. After two months of studying, Aaron McElduff, Christopher Irwin and Robert Rankin emerged triumphant from the Southern Regional College (SRC) course.

The students learned essential ICT concepts including word processing, spreadsheets, email and navigating the internet. SRC held the course at Craigavon’s Drumelin Family Learning Centre. The centre provides a relaxed and comfortable environment, and catered to their individual needs.

Caroline Douglas, the dedicated tutor who guided the students through the intricacies of ICT, expressed her delight at their engagement, saying “The students gave positive feedback of the course and really enjoyed it. It was a real pleasure and a great opportunity to teach to the various learners to satisfy their unique needs and abilities.”

Leeann McConville, Day Care Coordinator at Praxis Care Castle Lane Court, also spoke of their achievement, expressing immense pride in their accomplishments: “I have worked for Castle Lane Court for 16 years and I see the potential every day in our attendees! I am very proud of the men that gained this qualification as it was hard work. I am extremely happy to see the positive outcome. I would also like to thank the teams at the Southern Trust for their continued and dedicated support as we work together at Castle Lane.”

Reflecting on his success, Robert Rankin shared, “I am very proud of myself and can’t wait for the awards ceremony.”
