EUROSPAR Hartstown in Dublin 15 has been honoured with the Praxis Care Champion Award, a prestigious recognition given to individuals and organisations that create more inclusive, supportive communities. The award celebrates the store’s outstanding commitment to supporting young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities through their partnership with Praxis Care’s Mulhuddart Day Service.

EUROSPAR Hartstown was nominated by members of the Praxis Care community for its exceptional contributions, including offering work experience opportunities, seasonal donations, and vital resources that directly benefit young adults with disabilities.

Austin Kavanagh, Team Leader and Activity Facilitator at Mulhuddart Day Service praised the store, “The team at EUROSPAR go above and beyond to help. They donated three brand new laptops and a printer, allowing us to create a dedicated computer space within our service for attendees.

They also regularly support us through seasonal donations at times like Easter and Christmas, providing items for raffles. Chris and the team have also supported individuals from our service with work experience opportunities, helping develop their skills to gain future volunteering roles or employment.”

Chris Furey, Managing Director of Furey Smyth EUROSPAR Group said, “As a family business, we’ve been part of the local community here for over 30 years, and it’s very important to us to able to support it in any way we can.

I recently attended a celebration event with three services and saw first-hand the impact of their day‑to‑day work on the lives of the people involved – and it’s phenomenal. It feels great to be able to support the amazing work that Praxis Care do.”
