At Praxis Care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. In April, we were delighted to recognise Catherine Stark, Acting Manager of our Physical Disabilities Service in the Isle of Man, for her dedication, leadership, and the positive impact she brings to those she supports and works alongside.
Supporting Great Care, Every Day
With 12 years of experience in care, Catherine plays a key role in the day-to-day life of the service. From supporting her team and managing rotas to ensuring quality and compliance standards are met, she brings both structure and compassion to her work.
Catherine’s focus is always on delivering meaningful, person-centred support, creating a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for everyone in the service. She’s always ready to lend a hand, and just as happy getting involved in the fun too – especially when there’s a game of bingo on the go.
Creating Opportunities for Voices to Be Heard
Catherine was recognised for her fantastic work in strengthening co-production within her service. She has taken a hands-on approach by attending outreach review meetings and helping to organise Thie Quinney’s first meeting led by the people we support.
The meeting was a real success, with great energy and engagement throughout. It created a space where everyone could share ideas, contribute to fundraising plans, and suggest ways to improve the service. One person described feeling “buoyant for the day” afterwards—a wonderful reflection of the positive impact Catherine has helped create.
What Winning Employee of the Month Means
Catherine’s recognition highlights the difference she makes every day—not only in maintaining high standards, but in making sure the people we support feel heard, valued, and involved.
Celebrating Catherine
Catherine was surprised with flowers and chocolates to celebrate her achievement, which brought big smiles all round – especially from Louise, who lives at the service and was delighted to be part of the moment.
A Passion for Care
Reflecting on her role, Catherine shares: “Care can be challenging at times, but it can also be one of the most rewarding jobs you can do. It’s incredibly motivating knowing you are truly making a difference to someone’s life.”
Her words capture the heart of why she does what she does.
Thank you, Catherine, for the energy, kindness, and dedication you bring every day. It’s truly appreciated. 💜
