Praxis Care celebrated the official opening of Boyneview in Dunboyne, Co. Meath. This New Directions Day Service is designed to support individuals with disabilities, autism, and mental health needs while promoting greater community integration.
The event was attended by Minister for Children, Disability and Equality, Norma Foley, in addition to Gillian O’Toole, TD for Mid-East, HSE representatives and Praxis Care Staff.
At the official opening, Minister Foley led a ribbon-cutting ceremony, formally unveiling the state-of-the-art facility and celebrating a milestone moment for both Praxis Care and the wider Dunboyne community.

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Minister Foley said:
“I am so pleased to open Praxis Care’s new day service in Dunboyne, Co. Meath for adults with intellectual disabilities, which is funded from the disability services budget. It is offering individual care for a number of different service users, recognising their individual needs and supports. Congratulations to everyone involved.”
Located next to Praxis Care’s established Unit 66, which opened in 2016, Boyneview is a direct response to the growing demand for high-quality, person-centred care in the region. As part of this development, a significant refurbishment and expansion of Unit 66 has also been carried out, introducing new rooms, upgraded kitchen facilities, and enhanced outdoor pathways to further improve the service for the local community.

Boyneview has been designed to align with Ireland’s New Directions policy, which promotes independence and self-directed living for individuals with disabilities. The facility features a modern, fully accessible environment with expanded bathrooms, upgraded kitchen areas, and spaces dedicated to personal growth and development.
In partnership with the HSE, Praxis Care continues to deliver services that meet the evolving needs of individuals and communities, offering the comfort, privacy, and resources required for people to thrive in a supportive environment tailored to their specific needs.
The opening of Boyneview brings Praxis Care’s total number of services in the Republic of Ireland to 53, and 138 services across the organisation. As demand continues to grow, Praxis Care remains committed to developing person-centred services that empower individuals to lead full and meaningful lives.

Praxis Care CEO, Carol Breen, attended the event:
“It’s genuinely lovely to be here in Dunboyne today to officially open Boyneview. Days like this are special for Praxis Care because they celebrate what matters most – people, progress, and purpose. I look forward to seeing these services continue to grow, thrive, and make a real difference in the lives of the people we support and the wider Dunboyne community.”
